Back to the Jungle: ZEBRA!

After uploading the leopard design I had a few weeks ago, I decided I wanted to keep the animal print designs going. I've been really OBSSESSED! with lime green so far this summer and decided it would look nice in contrast to the black, white and silver glitter zebra design I painted. I had a vision for a lime green nail polish and was on a serious mission to find the perfect color. I first tried to get an old OPI polish called "Pooltime Lime" but it was sold out from the only website that seemed to still be carrying it. I opted to browse colors from my second favortie nail polish brand, ESSIE. I searched through most of the summer collections since those usually have the brightest colors and came across "Funky Limelight" and ordered it immediately when I found it in stock. SO happy I did because it was everything I could hope for in a lime green nail polish.

"Funky Limelight" is the color I have on all my nails except for the white under the zebra design, thats OPI "Alpine Snow". I like a lot of ESSIE colors, except their brush just doenst compare to the one's OPI have. I cleaned off a brush from an old bottle of OPI and used that dipped in the ESSIE to get better polish coverage. Then I used the same KISS Nail Art brushes from the leopard design to paint on the zebra stripes. Im currently working on getting a better camera since you can't really see it all that well but I also painted some silver stripes in between the black ones, since I LOVE glitter, to give it a little something extra.

Leopard!

Finallly a chance to update! Moving out at the end of the semester and going right DTS (aka down the shore) for my birthday, yay finally 21!, left me with no time for new posts. I had taken these pictures almost two weeks ago already and just looking at them now I still wish my nails were painted this way! The inspiration was my leopard heels. For once in my life I had showered and picked out an outfit early on in the night which left me enough time to re-paint my nails to match.

To start both ring fingers were painted with OPI's "Skull & Gloss Bones" from the "Pirate's of the Carribean" collection and the rest in "You Don't Know Jacques!". Once all my nails were dry I used a black thin nail-art brush (KISS nail art to be exact) to draw the spots on, in no particular oder just randomly created the design. Once that finished drying I used another thin brush dipped in gold glitter to add the accent. After the polish dried I put an OPI top coat on to make sure the design would last.
